Depending on where you live 16 year olds car insurance can be an expensive thing. The insurance is usually expensive because they consider someone that is sixteen to be a high risk driver and they do not want the person getting into wreck after wreck and they will have to pay a whole lot of money.
When you are sixteen you usually will have to get on your parents insurance or at least on your guardians insurance. This can raise their insurance through the roof because of your age, so be prepared to get a job and pay them back for this because I am sure some parents or guardians will need this.
I always thought car insurance was very high. I was not sixteen when I got my insurance because I was eighteen when I got my license. My insurance for only liability was one hundred and twenty dollars a month. I thought this was cheap until I found out from a lot of people that this was a very high price.
The bad thing about my high insurance was that it was the cheapest that I could find anywhere. Most places wanted more than this so I thought I was getting a great deal. I kept wishing somehow that I was already twenty five because then my insurance would be a little cheaper.
Well now that I am close to twenty five I wish I was still young and it does not even bother me that I was paying a lot of money for insurance. I just wish I had my teenage years back again. When you are sixteen and get your license I am sure it can be exhilarating but at the same time it is crazy.
Make sure you be safe while driving because this will not only protect you and your life as well as others around you, but it will help you to learn to drive better so that you can one day have your own car and insurance in your own name. This also will probably cost a lot of money when you first start it out in your name because you are new and an insurance company will not want someone to pay a small price for insurance that they do not think has driven before, even though you were on your parents insurance.
Make sure you do not get tickets because I have heard that getting a ticket can make insurance go up higher. Remember that there are other people out on the roads and they want you to be safe for their sake and the sake of their families too.
