No one wants to get them, but normally we all get at least one in our lifetime. What are they? The good old fashioned speeding tickets are what we are talking about. People hate them, but nevertheless, it is the number one thing in which people are pulled over for. So what are some facts about these?
Well for starters, many people are wondering at what point the speeding ticket is given. For most officers they follow the rule that they give you five miles over the speed limit. However, some who have been officers for quite a while do not follow this. This is really true in a construction area.
The other thing to remember is that you do not want to rack these things up. They are not trophies of driving. The more you get the more points against you that you get. The more points that you get the more you have to pay and the closer to having your license revoked you get. Those are two things that are no good.
Some states do have an option to help you so that you do not get more points. The way they do this is by making you take classes. If you take the classes you do not get the points and sometimes you do get a probation where you cannot drive. That is the down part to it. That is what you get though for speeding.
Now, for the most part you just pay it and are on your merry way. They accept all forms of payment. There are some people though who argue the ticket. Some have won doing this. Others have not. If you do choose to argue it, that is when you will be taken to court to stand before a judge.
There are some people then who say they really know how to get out of speeding tickets. They tell you to fake a cry. They tell you to tell the officer that there was a death in the family. While some think that this way of getting out of it is ethical others just tell them to grow up.
So, what happens if you do not pay it? There could be trouble. There have been people who have bench warrants out and do not even know about it. They get picked up for one thing or another and then are hauled off to jail. So, basically what we are saying is that if you get a speeding ticket, pay it.
When you are pulled over, the last thing is how to go about so that you do not get shot. You might think this is funny, but we assure you that it is not. The three things that they will always ask you when you roll down the window is to see your license, registration, and now days, proof of insurance. Make sure to keep your hands where the officer can see them and you will do just fine from there the two of you will work together to resolve the issue.
