The use of health and safety videos is an excellent idea and will contribute to a higher success rate of understanding what the videos are trying to teach. Videos are a much better method than books because seeing examples of what is being taught gives a mental picture which for many is easier to remember and identify with. Being able to view a technique by watching it happen and being able to see how it's done correctly oftentimes puts the technique in better perspective for the viewer than a written description can.

H&S videos are very important for many companies and corporations including the health care industry. Caregivers for the elderly for instance are required to watch health and safety videos now before actually becoming a caregiver and the reason they are so very beneficial is because the videos are able to act out a technique that otherwise would be very difficult to describe in writing. Furthermore even if the written description of the technique was done well it does not guarantee the majority that read it will understand it the way it must be understood to be correct.

Having written material that goes with H&S videos is the best method to use so as the student watches the video they can also see the written description in front of them and can look back at the written material for a reminder of what they saw in the video. This serves as a more thorough technique and triggering a better understanding between both references so they have a much better chance of understanding the technique fully the first time around. The fact that H&S videos let the student learn both by seeing and reading helps establish what is being learned much better and is reinforced by two sources instead of one.

Using a different example of a new staff member coming on board with a new company the staff induction videos have become a very popular and approved method to use. They provide a way of introducing the new staff member to the company and will include most everything about the policies and rules of the company and pertinent information concerning the new staff member's responsibilities. These staff induction videos have turned out to be invaluable for the company and the new member and providing a much needed consistency for everyone to learn the same rules and regulations presented in the same manner to all that view them.

The video production process gives the company being represented the opportunity to include every important and necessary point into one production. This contributes to giving an incredible consistency and the opportunity for all new staff members to be taught the same rules with the same material and decreasing the odds of everyone getting something completely different from it. This saves on valuable time and can also save on the amount of live seminars for teaching the same materials that are in the videos and resulting in better financial control for the company.

The video production of health and safety videos and staff induction videos have made it easier for companies to train new employees and staff members in a more successful and time-friendly manner. Although the need for video production is an added cost it provides the efficiency needed to cut costs of less productive methods of the past and are very worth the savings along with the improvement in training it has provided. Much wasted time has been put to better use and making the process for companies to be more time and cost efficient are well worth the changes made.

The typical H&S Video covers topics such as DSE (display screen equipment), manual handling, fire evacuation, slips trips and falls, hazards, office and factory safety and home and lone working to name just a few.
