You may think that by making home improvements you can resell your house and earn a huge profit. Before you rush out to buy materials to start your projects, put some study into how to do them and when you should hire help.
Know What You Are Doing
The first thing to do even if you are not planning to put your house on the market anytime soon is to examine it from top to bottom, inside and out. Your eye automatically picks out the ones that have nice paint and trim with no peeling, fences that are not sagging or missing slats, and a yard with a weeded garden and mowed lawn. These homes do not even have to be the most expensive or in your favorite style or color; you can just tell that this house is loved.
Taking good care of your El Centro home will increase the value when you decide to sell, whether it is next month or in ten years. Chances are this is the most valuable asset you own and you want to make sure you receive full value.
