There is one thing that men learn very quickly when they get married to a woman. They, like them, have their own set of passions and they are not about to let those things go just because they get married.
Men sometimes do not understand why women like things, but likewise cannot understand why the woman in their life does not "get" their hobbies. A little training and few times of being in a lot of hot water and they soon learn that they do not need to understand their hobbies, but they do need to support them in that hobby.
One love of most women is jewelry. They do not all like the same kind of jewelry, but almost without exception women love their jewelry. Most women like the traditional types of jewelry, such as gold, silver, pearls, etc. However, while liking all of those things, some also like a slightly different style.
For example some woman love the antique type of jewelry. Often times this includes pearls. There is one kind of jewelry that is often referred to as antique cameo style. This type of jewelry generally consists of a strand of pearls that is broken up with medallions containing some fancy artwork of people or faces. These are often referred to as cameos and are considered antique because of how old they are and the era that they came from. These cameos are added to the pearls to give a very antique, yet very beautiful type of jewelry. Most frequently, this is done in a necklace.
Not all women would wear this kind of necklaces, but all can appreciate it and admire the work and craftsmanship that goes into it. Some women though, prefer this kind of a necklace and would wear it in a heartbeat.
This is not the everyday type of jewelry though. This is the kind that you might wear to something a little more formal and nice or to church services. It is easy to break if not careful, so those who wear it tend to be a little older with no children living in the home. Women with young children learn quickly that the jewelry that they wear to almost anything needs to be inexpensive because their children will quickly lose it or break it. It does not happen to every piece of jewelry, but it does happen to some and they never know which ones it will be. It is a fact of life as a mother of young kids.
