In the day and age in which we live there is a lot of technology that was not even thought about only 50 years ago. In fact, much of it was not even thought about 5-10 years ago. The speed at which we are now able to make things a reality is unbelievable. The technology is partly responsible for this. As more and more things are done by computer, we can do things quicker and with more precision. The computers themselves are getting better and better as well.
There are two main factors that will hinder a computer from performing as well as we would like. Those two factors are speed and memory. Traditionally, the way to correct this was simply to buy more memory to install in the computer or buy a new computer or to constantly rid our computer of things that were not necessary so that we keep it uncluttered and this would make it faster.
However, those solutions are not always a viable option. As the demand grows, we tend to outgrow the solutions. However, it is usually not too long before we come up with new and better solutions to the problems. One of the solutions that has come about is an increased memory and functionality in the same space as before. In fact, some solutions put into one piece for the computer what used to take four pieces. This helps to solve some problems and makes it possible to solve problems a lot more efficiently and at a lot less cost than we used to.
For most people, the technology is over their heads. They do not even begin to understand it because the technical terms have them lost before any real discussion has begun. For them, they simply know the people to call that can help them with all of their computer needs and that is what they rely on.
However, it would be good for everyone to become more technical savvy so that as a society we can demand more from our technology. It is also a good idea because the technology industry is not slowing down and the more that you know and understand, the better you will be able to communicate to the people who do work on your computer and the better the solutions will be for you.
The next time that you are having your computer worked on, take the time to ask a lot of questions so that you can become a lot more familiar with how they work.
