When using tools for witchcraft, the tools are not the most essential thing, the consciousness is what counts, the tools are only an aid to a finish. The tools may come from different places, they may be new, second hand, or home made. Tools that are aged are very much preferred. Witchcraft tools may be purchased from second hand stores, antique shops, garage or yard sales or flea markets. If you acquire or purchase any old witchcraft items be sure to remove any energies which have been stored previously.

Witchcraft tools are used in magic and rituals. The bell is believed to have been used in religious ceremonies for a long time. It is used in rituals to attract the spirits and keep negative vibes away. It has been said to aid in the effect of concentration and focus.

The broom or besom is used to remove negativeness from a room. It is held just above the floor and a ritual use of the broom or besom by a sweeping motion is used to clean the spiritual plane, this is the vicinity of the negative area.

The cauldron which is an iron pot, used to cook over a fire, is used when working magic and rituals. It can be large or small but it needs to be made of iron. White candles are a magic tool, they are used in spell workings and rituals. They represent knowledge, pureness of spirit, and light in the darkness.

A thurible or censer is used when incense is burned. The horn or chalice represents a goblet. This is a cup which holds the beverage used in a ritual. A wool, flax or cotton cord, approximately the length of the witches body is worn when working with spells and rituals.

When a dagger is used it must be sacred as it is used in rituals and to work with. It may be black with a double edge on the blade and about 5 inches or more long. A robe made from wool and dark in colour is used when doing rituals outdoors.

The staff is a length of the Ash tree, it is blunt on either end and is used in magic and rituals. Another length of the Ash tree is called the stang but instead of being blunt on both ends it has a fork at the top. It is also used in magic and rituals. The wand is used in magical and religious rituals. It directs the energy flow.

So if you want to try your hand a witchcraft why not pick up some of the tools you need and see what you can do with them.
