Here are some tips for a successful tradeshow. Trade shows are a great way to promote your business and to have a lot of fun in the process. Many business people love trade shows because they can travel around the country. Also they can meet new customers and build their business.

The most important part of doing your trade show is to establish your purpose. Do you want to sell products, do you want to meet new business partners, or do you want to promote a new product line. Whatever your purpose, set up your booth with that objective in mind and make your booth to be as warm and inviting as possible.

Avoid having a table between the trade show attendees and your product display. Set up, so people will be able to walk into your booth area and interact with your display. The more they can interact with your display the more questions they will have and the more opportunity you will have to interact with your visitors.

Request the best booth location. If possible ask for a corner spot when you are applying for your booth location. Corner locations get more traffic and people from two avenues can see your booth. If you do the same trade show each year, ask for the same booth space so customers will know where to find you each year.

No matter how great your booth looks, you will not attract many people unless you are out there talking to people rather than sitting behind a table. You need to welcome people to your display. You have to engage them in conversation. You need to be interesting and also interested. When people sense that you care about them, they will feel at home in your space. Look people in the eye and smile and be friendly.

Have something new each time so people will have a reason to come back to your booth. And of course have some free premiums to give away. You can get a great deal on promotional pens. If you have a new promotional item each year, people will make sure to stop by your booth.

Qualify those who come to your booth. Sift through the students and those who are simply looking around at all the displays. Know who you are looking for. If you are looking for company decision makers or company executives, you need to watch out for them by checking their name badges and their business titles.

Many sales people will jump right into a sales pitch. Instead interview the person who is visiting your booth. Ask them why they are at the show, what caught their attention about your booth. When you know why people are there, you can then target your presentation to their needs and interests.

The better you listen to their responses, the better you can fit your presentation to their needs. Do not simply jump in and start selling. Listen intently to what they are saying. Follow these suggestions for a successful trade show.
