The word Manga means comics in Japanese. However, in English, it is used as a common term for all books on comic characters and graphics created in Japan. It is now being considered a term that can even describe non-Japanese storytelling styles and has become very popular in many parts of the world due to the fact that there is always something for everybody in this style of weaving a tale. It does cover most genres and many of its series have books ranging from a couple to over twenty of them. That is due to the tremendous depth and complexity in each of their stories and that makes them an interesting read.

The characters in Manga have a distinctive external appearance, with large eyes and body parts that are not in proportion. However, the emotions are well reflected in the drawings and many manga artists go the extra length to depict sorrow or worry through deft clear lines.

Manga types

Manga caters to both sexes. The Shojo Manga, which caters to the female sex, has its emphasis more on tender romance and mushy love while the Shonen Manga catering to the male sex has storylines that abound with action, thrills and adventure. Though they are essentially targeted at small children and teenage audience, many adults find these comics quite appealing.

If you are a keen fan of anime and manga forms of storytelling and would like to slowly start accumulating Manga statues to adorn your home, then it is advised that you first make room at your house so that your collection can be displayed with pride and people notice them. You should probably look at a good quality display case.

You can then begin by going for some of the older and commonly-found figurines as they are not very expensive and will set you on your way. They are typically only four inches tall and would comprise of the popular characters such as Sango, Miroku, and Inuyasha and so on. You can find this collection online as well and they come with nice blister packing.

Other useful and impressive Manga statues are the Love Hina statues that are also four inches tall and they also comprise of Urashima Keitara, who always gets into trouble with his five girl friends and is perpetually unlucky. The female statues of Mitsune and Kaolla are also equally popular.

Once you are able to build up a sizeable collection of small figurines, you can go for the larger ones and as time passes, you would have a collection that has Manga statues of all sizes and they will look impressive in your display case. The eight inch figurines in the Mon-Sieur Bome series are particularly famous and take the name after the renowned Japan sculptor Bome. The She Devil character created by him along with the female ninja Kasumi and Ignis who wields the sword so expertly are must have collections and you must do everything possible to have them.

So create a wish list and go online to pick up the required Manga statues.
