Scents and essence - what benefits do they give the body? In relation to aromatherapy, there are scents that relax the mind and the body. Used by the Greeks and the Egyptians dating back to ancient civilization, the gifts of herbs from Mother Nature has found many uses to alleviate stress and other disorders. He was Rene-Maurice Gattefosse and his experiment on the lavender oil and his burnt hand started his assertion that indeed essential oil contribute to healing process.

The aroma of essential oils had also been found to reduce the stress felt by people. The smell stimulates the senses thus relief from discomfort, pains and headaches. Today, modern chemists and scientists continue the research and they evaluate the usefulness of these plant extracts on the healing of the human body and the mind.

With the current technology, different aromatherapy products are made catering to different emotions and body pains. Different individuals have different reactions to the varying products. Many desire the bath salts which possess relaxing as well as stress releasing effects. Lavender has been found to have same effects as the bath salts.

Aromatherapy even in this modern world is being widely utilized. Its patrons allege that the aroma of the oils relaxes them, put their aches to ease and acts on the nervous system and ends depression and anxiety.
