After showing criminal tendencies or highly inappropriate behavior toward women and girls some young men are shunned from society and spend their formative middle and high school years causing trouble and finding their way into entanglements with the law. While juvenile detention centers work to provide a healthy environment for rehabilitation of the delinquent teens, most young offenders go on to commit more serious crimes and end up in courtrooms where they are passed from jail to prison as they mature.
For many boys the introduction to a correctional facility is counterproductive and reinforces their bad behaviors as they mingle with hardened people that lead them down paths of worsening degrees of unlawful activity. Before long many young men become part of a system of dishonest conduct and fall into the cracks in the corrections programs that are designed to turnaround the hurtful actions and integrate children back into accepted society.

Emphasizing real life opportunities to reintegrate with their peers the programs available are treating all manner of illicit and criminal behavior and transforming the lives of those that have started on a self destructive course, by changing negative patterns into positive performance.
A rehabilitative method is to provide opportunities for struggling teens to engage in activities that allow them to develop skills and grow in confidence. Whether it is learning how to ride horses or working at a productive hobby, this can allow them to contribute, learn to work as a team, and give them a sense of fulfillment -- that they are providing useful contributions and are, therefore, useful themselves.
