Computers have really changed a lot of what we call today modern society. Everything that you see while you are going outside your apartment, is mainly created using computerized technology. One of the greatest things about computers is that they are always improving at a great speed, but that is not such a good thing when it comes to your budget and the fact that if you want to take advantage of the latest technologies, you will need to buy a new one about once per 2 years.

Thus, when it comes to animation, things are not that different either. It all began with the 2D animation that we are all familiar with for our generation (the 80s and a bit of the 90s) has been marked by 2D animation models. But yes, everything changes and there is no reason to say that 2D animation is exempted from advances. Soon, 3D technology emerged and it definitely changed a lot of things in the industry. Now most box office movies are using 3D technology to create those detailed models and impressive special effects.

But when people hear the word animation they do not really get the full idea around it. What most of the elders are thinking about it is that it is a technique that is used in order to create those shiny, detailed and colorful models that they see featured in Orange and Vodafone commercials. Regardless of what they think, 3D animation is able to also provide real life animation of the models that sometimes you will have a hard time distinguishing the it from its real life counterpart.

Yet many people will tend to think that compared to 2D animation, 3D animation is just nothing when it comes to the skills one needs to have to cope with it. But that is not really true. Even though if one cannot have the necessary talent to draw things by hand, he may have the talent of creating some jaw-breaking computerized content. As a graphics artists, one must know what he wants to create and how to add the effects and the soundtrack to his production (depending on the project) so that the end result will be perfect.

Who knows what technologies will there be available in the years to come Maybe one will just create images by having their brains connected to specialized mind reading devices.
