There are many different museums, artistic venues and even historical attractions that you should visit while you are in Philly. When you are taking the time to plan your vacation you want to make sure that you keep all of these in mind.
First, you want to make sure that you are visiting Independence Hall. There are a lot of people that do not understand how formative this area was in the history of the United States and how many crucial happenings went down here.
The hall is open all year round. It does not matter what day of the year it is or what holiday the nation is celebrating you can always stop by the museum and experience the history that you can feel while you are walking around.
You must have a ticket to get into the hall. There are a lot of people that think they do not need a ticket so they show up at the hall and they are not allowed to come in because they are not able to pick up their ticket in time.
When you are taking the time to plan your vacation you have to make sure that you arrive early. There are a lot of people that do not get to the ticket center in time and end up not being able to get a ticket.
You only have to send one person in your group to get the tickets, but they should be there early. The tickets that you can pick up are free and this is why they are gone so quick, because there are a lot of people that want to see the museum.
There are tickets that you can buy for one dollar and fifty cents. These are the tickets that you can easily purchase in advance and will give you a specific time slot in which you should come to the park to enjoy the museum.
While you are visiting the hall you will be able to visit the same room that the 546 brave men met in to start writing the United States constitution. These men went against every law that was governing them to start this meeting.
They risked their own lives, the lives of their families and also their good names. While you are walking through these rooms you will begin to feel the severity of the decision that these men had to make to start these papers.
You will be able to see the chair that George Washington sat in while they discussed the problems with England. This chair has been referred to as the "rising sun" chair and many people have travelled to see the chair.
When you see the chair you will be standing in the West Wing. This is where the original inkstand still stands where the forefathers of our country signed the Declaration of Independence for the nation.
In July of 2010 the Tower of the Independence hall will start to be rehabilitated. This project will last about 14-months and it will help preserve the hall so that many people can continue to come and enjoy it.
There are a lot of people that do not understand how much effort preservation takes. You have to make sure that you are taking the time to be respectful of the buildings throughout your visit so that you do not add to their degradation.
Visiting this museum may add much more history and depth to your visit. While you are in Philadelphia you will be able to enjoy the food of the locals and also the night life that so many of the locals are so proud of.
When you want to add a little more to your vacation you can start visiting the historical sites in the area. Although you may not think this is fun or exciting at first, it is at least worth a try while you are in the area.
You should make sure that you are taking the time to really assess your options while you are in the area. If you do not understand your options it may be much more difficult to get everything that you can out of your vacation.
Take the time to do your research ahead of time so you can enjoy the city while you are there.
