Incorrect treatment and diagnosis often cause damage to the patients. This delays the treatment and thus, leads to expected frustration among the patients. Now, the scenario of dry eyes is completely different. Increasingly, more practitioners are becoming aware to the problem of dry eyes. Thus, the ways to diagnose the condition properly is not a big deal nowadays.

This particular infection is very common and thus, goes unnoticed among many. The most important point that one has to take into account is that this problem is not limited to a certain age group, as it can occur in people of various age groups. If the eyes seem tearless or irritating, then the reason may be dry eyes. This is a common occurrence in areas of windy climate.

A common reason of dry eyes is the inaccurate functioning of tear glands. This is due to the incorrect production of the lipid layer and tears. In this case, the lachrymal system is at a loss. During such times, the meibomiam gland produces the tears at a very slow and gradual rate.

This reason in itself opens the floodgates for many other disorders. The patients having this problem may also suffer from autoimmune diseases. This literally means that the antibodies are affecting your salivary glands and all the other glands connected to them.

Another cause is patient being overage and on the verge of menopause, as this creates an imbalance in the androgen fluids of the body system. A rare cause is the effect of some antibiotic drugs that may harm your body. Under this area comes the allergy drugs namely, anti-depressants and the medicines a prescribed by the doctor. If the lipid layer of the eyes is in a bad condition, then the rate of evaporation in tears increases resulting in dry eyes.

There are normal solutions though not guaranteed that may reduce the disastrous effect of dry eyes. One of such solution is to use warm compress. Clean the eyelashes with a slight tinge of soapy solution. Wearing sunglasses is another option for preventing dust to aggravate the infection. It may only reduce, but not cure the disorder fully. The intensity of dry eyes differs in every situation and from sufferer to sufferer.

In some cases, one only needs a simple eye drop, ointment or cream to cure the dry eyes. The most severe case is when you may see small dots in the cornea portion of your eyes. In fact, in some cases, you can even witness absence of upper and lower meniscus of the tear.

In these cases, it is most preferable to consult an eye specialist. The chemist also may provide some help for mild cases of dry eyes, but a doctor is always a safe option. Light and soft massage to the eyelids may also turn helpful to you.
