There are many different types of students who learn things in different ways. As a high school student I struggled to learn math. In junior high I had trouble in algebra, but I was good at doing geometry. I think that as a visual learner I was able to see the geometric shapes in my mind and figure out the solutions to the problems I was given. With no visual connection to the algebraic equations I was lost and had a hard time working through the problems that were presented to me. Although I did well in English and history I had trouble with the sciences and remember dropping a chemistry class that was above my head. Although I graduated high school and went on to college with a steady grade point average I gravitated toward the subjects that I was doing well in.
For many students in junior and senior high school classes there are subjects that are easy to pick up and those that are difficult to grasp. While I struggled to keep my grades up at times there is a better way for teenagers to learn the topics that are giving them a hard time.
