Childrens cabin beds or loft sleepers are becoming popular these days. This type of setup provides a place for your kid to sleep, which is off the floor. It is very similar to a bunk bed setup, except there is no bottom bunk. Here are some advantages and disadvantages of this type of furniture.

Advantages

You can find a great deal of advantages to a loft sleeper for your kid. They make an excellent sleeping area and they come in many different colors. They are also available in wood and metal designs.

Space

One very important advantage to loft sleepers is the space that you can save. In a normal kid room, the sleeping space is fully occupied by the bed. With a loft sleeper, you have extra space under the sleeping area. It is almost as good as increasing the size of the room. If your kid has a small room, this can make a big difference.

You may wish to put a computer desk under the loft sleeper. This will give kids an excellent location for doing homework. Also, it will be easier to study and do homework, in his or her room. Otherwise, they may have to study in the living room, and this can be very distracting.

Some people choose to place a small entertainment center under the sleeping area. This may be a good place for watching television or playing video games. It may free up the living room television for the adults, too.

Storage

Storage is always an important issue in rooms, and you will have plenty of extra storage under a loft sleeper. It is a good area to put a foot locker or storage tubs, and some sleepers come with built-in storage cabinets. This can provide an excellent place for clothing, or toys. It can make it much easier for kids to keep their rooms clean, too.

Disadvantages

There are few disadvantages to loft sleepers for kids. If there is more than one kid, you may need to purchase a bunk bed setup, instead. Also, if your child is younger than six, it is best to wait until he or she gets older. These setups are designed for older kids.
