Your bathroom is your sanctuary. Keep it clean if you want it to stay a sanctuary. Nobody wants to have towels just laying everywhere in their bathroom. You want your sanctuary to look good every time you go in there. There may be times when you are lazy and do not feel like putting your used towels away, but that encourages mold and a bad smell. This will actually make your bathroom look bigger as it will give it more floor space. You should not get a large floor linen cabinet if you have a small bathroom. It does not matter how much you fall in love with it just because it matches your bathroom vanity. If it does not fit, you cannot put it in there; otherwise you will have a lot of stubbed toes.

Germs collect on items in the bathroom. The last place you want germs is on your toothbrush. Use your linen cabinet to store this as well.
