Baseball and hotdogs, ketchup and mustard, county fairs and corn dogs, some things were just meant to be together. America's highways have much to offer the traveler. While the expenses of traveling overseas are astronomical, why not grab an RV in Austin and stay in your own backyard?
"From the mountains to the prairies, to the ocean white with foam" there is much to see and do here at home. We have rich history in the New England States. From Plymouth Rock to Jamestown, Boston, Philadelphia to Mount Vernon, Washington DC with its plethora of museums, monuments, and government buildings, the East coast is a wonderful place to visit.
The Smithsonian offers 19 separate museums and galleries and even a National Zoological Park. With the Air and Space Museum, the American Art Museum, American History Museum, American Indian Museum Heye Center, Arts and Industries Building, Freer Gallery of Art, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Gardens the Portrait Museum and the African American History and Culture Museum there is sure to be something for everyone in your RV.
Add to that the Washington, Lincoln, World War II, Vietnam, Jefferson Memorials along with the Capital, White House and the Library of Congress and you could keep yourselves entertained for a week. And the best part is it is all free!
Traveling on from the East Coast (although you might want to head up to New York City) this country has much to offer. The great plains of Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and of course your home state of Texas offer broad expanse of flat land. The breadbasket of America. Before you get too far west you might want to venture a stop in Chicago. Home of the original gangs, Chicago has come along way since the early 1800's. With theater, professional basketball, football, baseball and soccer, shopping, a unique and beautiful skyline, the worlds best pizza and popcorn this is a stop worth making. The drive through the North East is stunning.
The west also has unique and matchless land formations. Yellowstone National Park, Bryce, Zion, Moab can't be found anywhere else in the world. If gas, time and energy allows continue on in your Austin RV to see the sights of California. Populated during the great gold rush of the 1800's, California is a destination worth the time and energy. With the crowds, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Sea World on the south to the stunning craggy ocean scenes in the North, California also is a weeklong destination.
From sea to shinning sea, if you haven't taken the time to see this amazing, spectacular country of ours, with the economic being what they are right now, this may be the time! You will come home surprised and proud of our homeland.
