A lot of students may dread the concept of generating a science research, but you may really have some fun if you choose to opt for a main subject you are interested in. In case you love animals, why not have a science project about animal behaviors? You can find many science fair research suggestions that which involve the behaviors of animals, and here are some you can employ:

Attidues of various insects

You can look for many insect behaviors that you might monitor for your project. In terms of ants, consider examining in what way they're affected by temperature or what kind of food sizes they prefer. You can also see in what way ants respond to threats. You can try testing the sense of direction of cockroaches. For mosquitoes, consider what types of insect repellants are most suitable against them and also determine what attracts them to people and animals. See if a spider's ability to spin webs could be affected by alcohol and caffeine. Make an investigation on the migration of monarch butterflies or consider the different stimuli that may cause crickets to chirp.

Behaviors of domesticated animals

You do not need to go out of your home to look for an animal subject for your science research if you posses any type of pets in your home. Try to consider projects that involve them to make it more convenient for you. Just in case you have a cat, you could determine with what types of audio they're very responsive to. For dogs, analyze in what way they can recall things. You could also compare the behaviors of several breeds of dogs so you can examine which behaviors are likely to be genetic. If you have both cats and dogs in your house, you might try to compare the differences between them like which can see better in the dark or which maybe more responsive to audio. You could also see if different periods of the day has the effect on the potential of a mouse to run through a maze.

Animals' defense mechanism

The ways used by animals to protect them against predator and treats could also be an interesting topic. You could consider setting your study at the spot close to your house which have wild birds. Try placing a bird feeder in the location and monitor if a particular species of bird might approach the feeder even if there are other birds present. You might try to place a bird bath close to the feeder and observe whether there's change in the quantity of birds that gather in the location. You might also determine what the effects of artificial light are within the activity level of goldfish.

Food preferences of animals

You could make an experiment on what foods a particular kind of animal chooses. You may study on cardinals if you observe any near your area. Position various bird feeds and hold weekly monitoring to see which kind of feed draw cardinals the most. If you own a kitten at home, you could also try to distinguish what types of food your pet prefers.

If you decide on a science project that needs more research than experimentation, you can utilize local resources such as the zoo or you can interview a doctor of animals.
