Attending parties where people dress up in costumes can be quite fun for anyone. If you are an adult and are planning on going to an event where you are required to be dressed up in a costume and need an idea, then the native American Indian costume is a great choice. Creating your very own costume can be fun and is a project that will only take little time and effort. If you are not able to do this by yourself, then here is some instructions on how to create this interesting costume.

For you to make this native American Indian costume, whether it is for Thanksgiving, Halloween or just a party where you are expected to wear a costume, then here are some simple steps to making this yourself. You shall need only a few basic items to complete this project and you shall have one great looking garment that everyone will admire for the event.

The first thing that you shall want to do is to get yourself a plain tan or a tee shirt that is one or two sizes larger than your own size. Pick a shirt that will hang down around the thighs as this will provide you with the best results for this kind of garment. Make sure that you also use a tee shirt that has long sleeves and also one that has a long hem as well. Should you be a man, then maybe you shall want a shirt that will fit more tighter, as to appear much like a warrior.

Now begin to cut out the potato stamp with a nice shape, as squares or even diamonds will work quite well for this project. For you to create a potato stamp you will simply need to cut a potato right in half. Then just cut the shape right into the the potato, if not you can always buy one of these stamps at a store.

You will now need to press one of these potato stamps in to some fabric paint. After you test this out on a small piece of paper, then use the stamp so to make a pattern that will be repeated right across the chest area of the tee shirt. Then you will want to paint a line right above the shapes that are repeated across the chest portion of the shirt.

Now you shall need to allow the shirt to have time to dry. You can do this by using a drying machine or let it dry by itself. You can try to blow dry it too. This can help the paint to have time to set in.

Now with the use of a pair of scissors, cut out the collar of this shirt. Then you will want to cut the sleeves and the hem of the tee shirt into some strips that are about one inch wide, which will create a fringe. After this is washed. The strips will then curl up slightly, so make sure that you are fully aware when you choose the width of this outfit.

This is a wonderful idea for a costume and this is one garment that can even look very colorful if you choose to make it that way. It is very comfortable and also is an interesting costume that will get the attention of everyone attending the event.
