As opposed to what most people attending weddings may believe, recycling gifts are not as bad as they make it seem to be. In fact, I think it is a really reasonable thing to do especially during these times when everybody is having a tough time in financial aspects. Some people may think that it is really inappropriate to give out a gift that has been given to you by someone. It is often referred to as a second hand gift. In my case, I would never mind receiving second hand gifts as long as I know that it has a good use for me. Perhaps the person who gave it to you did not have any use for it so instead of throwing it out, he or she gave it to you.

During weddings, the attendees will definitely make sure that their gifts stand out among the rest. In my case, I make sure that my gifts would be highly appreciated for what they may be used for more than how other people will see it. I do not ever consider other people's opinions with the gifts that I give out to any of my friends or family because it won't matter anyway. If you think you are being looked down upon just because you believe that recycling presents is the best way to save money, you should not feel that way at all.

Just think that these people who look down on you are missing half of their lives spending their money on something that the recipients won't even have any use for. More often than not, the most expensive gifts end up on display or in storage. This is because the recipients fear of it getting broken and because it is so expensive, they would prefer not to use it at all. Compared to a second hand but very helpful gift, the recipients would come to appreciate them even more. So you see, you really don't have to spend a fortune on your gifts. Just make sure that they will be able to make the most out of the gifts that you will be giving to them, regardless of the monetary value.

In some cases, the bride and the groom both receives a minimum of one item from their families that has been passed on from generation to generation. These are called family heirlooms. I have come to treasure family heirlooms even more when they are well taken care of. These family heirlooms may be in the form of a wedding gown, a bow tie, a neck tie, a pair of cufflinks, a bride's veil or the wedding ring itself. I believe that family heirloom is another way of putting recycled gifts. The only difference is that family heirlooms are usually passed on to a family member. And then recycled gifts or second hand gifts may be passed on to both family and friends.

If you think that your gift will seem much better off as a family heirloom rather than a second hand gift, then family heirloom it is then. You don't have to tell everybody that it is something that has been passed on to you, do you?
