Subaru's have always been popular for their ability to adapt to their environment. This reputation has earned them a number of faithful buyers including the outdoorsman or woman, the hippy, and the environmentalist. Subaru's are popular everywhere. From the Chicago Subaru buyer to the California buyer, from the Texas buyer up to the Main buyer, Subaru buyers come from all over the United States and even internationally.

Subaru's are well known for being able to drive through just about any terrain. They also have a wide range of models available, making them a well rounded brand. From compacts to SUVs, Subaru can provide just about any driver with what they are looking for.

Subaru was founded originally in 1917. It was originally called The Aircraft Research Laboratory and was headed by Chickuhei Nakajima. Over 50 later and after several transfers in ownership, Malcolm Bricklin established Subaru of America in 1968 in Philadelphia. By this time, Subaru had become six companies merged together creating what is called FHI. The name Subaru, originally pronounced "Sumaru", means, "to get together." Subaru is the Japanese symbol for the Pleiades star cluster, which is where the Subaru logo comes from. The symbol of the star represents the six companies that merged together to form what is now Subaru.

The Subaru plant was the first auto assembly place to have a zero landfill status. They use aluminum through most of their cars that can be reused and encourage their buyers to recycle care that are no longer drivable. They have been one of the first to encourage a "green" attitude in the auto-manufacturing world.

In addition to being environmentally friendly, Subaru is innovative in the cars they make. The Subaru Outback wagon is one of Subaru's most popular models, combining all-wheel drive, an easy ride and a sporty look. Launched as a 1996 model, it was advertised as the "world's first sport utility wagon." The Outback became an extremely successful model, and sales caused other car manufacturers to offer similar car-based vehicles with all-wheel drive and SUV characteristics. Subaru's most popular SUV model is the Subaru Forester.

It was first introduced in Tokyo in 1995 and has continued evolving over the past 15 years. It also has new technology that allows for a smoother ride and better handling as well as a touch screen navigation system. It also has front, side and passenger airbags which is a plus if safety is a problem. Both cars stand out because of their unique features and reliability.
Subaru continues to lead the market by creating cars that are their environmentally sound, high quality, adaptive and innovative.
