Consider your specific travel criteria including dates, baggage requirements, and anything else, and simply see which airline offers you the best rates.
Once you have found a suitable airline, be sure to book in advance. Anyone who is looking to save money when travelling on a plane should always aim to plan their trip in advance. Generally airlines will charge slightly higher fares if you are booking on a last-minute basis. If you can book your flight three weeks or more prior to departure you will generally find that you save money.
If you can be flexible with your specific flight time then this might be helpful as well. For example, if you choose to travel at 3 AM rather than 3 PM, you will often find that the flight is cheaper. Antisocial hours do not command such high demand and people generally prefer to travel during the day, especially when it comes to shorter flights. Choose antisocial hours for your outward flight and return flight.
Book any flights that you go on as part of a package deal. Consolidating your holiday requirements and paying for a package which includes your flight, as well as accommodation, activities, and food and drink, will generally lead to reduced costs overall.
