Being the groomsmen for a friend's wedding may not be the least complicated task in the world but when it is your friend who is getting married, it will all be worth it. There are several things that they would need to do in order to be the perfect groomsmen for your wedding day. Of course, I am pretty sure that they would not even bother asking for your help on any of these stuff but it would surely be smart to give them some pointers.
If you do not want them to spend lots of money on the stuff that are not that necessary, tell them before they even do so. The last thing you would want to happen is to have them buy all the stuff and then ending up telling them that they could do without them. Nothing is more irritating than the last minute preparations so make sure to gather enough patience when the time comes. Trust me. You will be needing loads of patience to get through with the wedding.
Given that the groomsmen will be doing a lot of stuff for your wedding day, it would be just right to repay them with something that they would surely value. They will not just be renting tuxedos for the wedding day but they will also be doing a lot of preparations for the big day. In fact, most of the groomsmen whom I know even help out in the wedding preparations.

It is because groomsmen and bridesmaids help hand in hand to make sure that all the needs for the wedding day are taken care of in advance. They especially know what needs to be taken care of since they all know the bride and the groom personally.
One of the best and probably the most classic way of showing your gratitude to your groomsmen is by having their initials engraved on the items that you will be giving out to them. Among the most popular items that can be engraved on are fine piece of jewelry like rings, bracelets, pendants, cufflinks, wrist watches, pocket watches, pens, money clippers or even business card holders.
You may also give them pocket knife or pocket multi-tool, corkscrews/bottle openers or even wallets. If they have a home bar, it would be better to give them something that they could use for it. Items such as customized beer mug or flask, shot glass set, corkscrews/bottle opener. You can even opt to give each groomsmen/usher a bottle of their favorite liquor if you happen to know it.
If in case your groomsmen are serious sports fans, they would surely appreciate something in line with their interest. You can give them something like some really nice golf equipment, fishing gear, camping equipment, game tickets. You can even give them some equipment which feature their beloved team's logo on it.
