When my sister was younger she had unbelievable abs because she watched the food that she ate, limited her intake of fat and did numerous ab crunches every day and, despite the fact that it was hard work, it was more than worth it. All that changed however following the birth of her son when she suddenly went very soft around the middle, developed very visible love handles, and could not rid herself of the flab regardless of how many diets she went on.
This would have been bad enough in itself, however she also found that she could not even do her crunches anymore because she was suffering from severe back pain. She was not ready however to live with being out of shape and she resolved to check out a few abdominal exercise machines.
Abdominal exercise machines are designed specifically to focus attention on the abs during an exercise routine and most machines imitate regular crunch exercises although they are much easier on the body. For instance, almost everyone does crunch exercises lying flat on their back on the floor with their hands behind their head putting them at risk for back injury. This is not however a risk with abdominal exercise machines because they restrict your movement and make you maintain a good posture to work with the machine. This means that these exercise machines are just about foolproof and permit the rest of your body a break while you are working on your abs.
My sister had watched plenty of TV ads for exercise machines but was not ready to rush out and purchase one solely on the basis of what she had seen on TV. She had no desire to listen to what professional bodybuilders and actors were being paid to tell her but wanted to hear what real individuals had to say about these machines based upon their own personal experience.
So she jumped online and found numerous third-party consumer reviews of many of the best known abdominal exercise machines. She wanted to find out which of the machines were well-constructed, easy to use, and really worked on sculpting your abs and which would simply be a waste of her time and money. She also wanted to find those websites from which she could purchase the most popular abdominal exercise machines at low prices because the machines are expensive and any discount that she might be able to find would be a help.
One remark she made to me was that she was very pleased that she had read the internet reviews because one of the machines that she had her eye on had not been at all well received by the reviewers. It turns out that this particular machine has a couple of significant problems that she would not have discovered in advance of buying it. As a result she purchased a machine that was a reasonable way down her list of possibilities but which had nonetheless received enthusiastic reviews.
The best news is that with her machine she is able to work on her abs several times a week without experiencing any of the back pain that she had without it. More importantly, she is now beginning to see a reduction in her waist line and should shortly be happily back in shape once more and looking much more like her old self.
