In general poker is a card game that many casino players think and believe. However poker is not just a card game rather it is a combination of card games. Most of the poker games resembles each other and have some common features in different aspects of the game especially in the betting rounds and in the ranking of hands. Poker is played in card rooms as well as in the private home games. The poker games that are played in the card rooms are of different kinds such as the stud games, the draw games and the flop games. But this is not the case in home games as there are many combinations of games and the player can play any games as per his choice.

Poker rules are nothing but the flexible tradition of the game and are important to get some fun and pleasure from the game. The basic thing is, it is a card game where players have to gamble and bet for the pot and the player with best hand will end up as the eventual winner for the pot. In this game the poker rules are considered as the backbone for a successful game. In the gambling round of the poker each player has to choose one of the four common actions associated with the game. Those four actions are to check, bet or raise, call and fold. Each of these moves has certain distinctions.

As per the rule when the player checks in the poker it means that this is a bet of zero without any intention to drop in the pot. The bet or raise in the poker means that the player has to bet that is more than the previous bet and here each player has to match or even exceed others in betting unless the pot will be forfeited. The poker player action call is a non-zero bet as per which the players interests will be held by the pot. The fold option in the poker means that the player has to surrender the interest in the pot as an answer to other players bet. By means of this the player will lose his betting money that he bets in the game.

As per the rules of the game the players has to sit in a circular manner and the betting continues till every player bets or folded. This is different for different poker games. In the poker games there are four-suit of standard 52 card decks. In this game normally the Aces play high but sometimes you have to play it low. There are also different rankings for players such as straight flush, four of a kind, full house and others.
