Pay per click advertising is the quickest way to bring in money to your business and is becoming ever more widely used,so learning the techniques used is very important, the purpose being to get prospective customers to click on your ad,which will then take them to your sales pages and hopefully result in a sale for you.

You chose words or phrases that you think that someone would type into a search engine when looking for your category of product, and these words are your keywords. To use pay per click advertising you bid a certain amount for a keyword and when someone searches for that keyword and clicks on your ad,you are debited,by the search engine, the amount that you bid for that keyword, and the person who clicked on your ad will land on your website, and hopefully your site will convert enough people into sales so that you are in profit. This works better than the usual ads where you pay a certain amount of money no how many people view or respond to your ad,which might even be zero, but with pay per click advertising you are only focusing on those people who are truly interested in what you have to offer,so if they do not respond it costs you nothing.

People responding to your ad does not,of course, guarantee sales, but there are certain things you can do to increase your chances of making these, one of which is to make sure that you choose keywords that are very focused on what you have to offer, because if you just choose general keywords you will not convert as well as long tail keywords that are more tightly focused. You also need to make the keyword very relevant to your ad as many pay per click engines will highlight the key word within the ad,which makes it stand out more to prospective buyers,so getting the keyword part right is of the utmost importance to avoid spending money on the wrong keywords.
This is done by tracking your ads to see what keyword is converting, and there are a few different ways to do this. You can get software or script programs that will work with your advertising campaign and tell you exactly which keywords are converting and leading to sales,or you can also do this yourself by adding tracking IDs to the end of your URLs.

You need to check your conversions and decide if and when to cut your losses, probably every day,so a good rule of thumb is to drop a keyword if it has not converted after 200-300 clicks and then you are no longer losing money with the slow converting keyword, but if a particular keyword has converted, but not too well, then you might want to expand on it and check it again next day to see how it does then, and increase its conversions even more.

Finally,it is very likely that some ads are simply much better performers than most of the others, and when you have found these super keywords and ads,you will definitely want to develop them by creating more ads on other pay per click search engines to grab some of that traffic as well, and start to focus on search engine ranking for those proven keywords through natural search engine optimization, and thus get organic traffic too

You should also consider that when clicking on your ad your prospect is taken to your landing page on your website, which should also match the key word in the ad so the visitor gets a natural flow to their search,

Obviously it will take some work to learn and study as much as you can about pay per click advertising before you get started, but the rewards are worth every bit of effort.
