Knowing what I know now would have saved me years of worry, which is, understanding that anxiety is normal in our everyday life we need it, however it becomes exaggerated when we are anxious. It heightens our senses making it over amplified and very sensitive to fear.

Reaction to fear on this level has to be confusing we search around for "real danger" but of course there is nothing tangible to get a hold of to physically strike out at. We therefore look within ourselves to place this free floating fear. As it has to be placed somewhere.

I underwent counseling, hypnotherapy, homeopathy, yoga, meditation started taking vitamins I read quite a few self help books, these all helped in their own positive way but did not get rid of my symptoms. I also tried fighting my thoughts; ignoring them, pushing them away this definitely did not work.

The fear we subsequently experience manifests itself in response as fearful thoughts, physical worries and sensations. We retract from this and question it, clueless as to why it appears, naturally we try to fight, what we do not realize is that the fighting the questioning and running away keeps the fear going, fear it would seem needs fear to survive.

My illness started with anxiety and because I became extremely mentally exhausted OCD followed. The way I recovered from my OCD was by the same principle as my recovery from anxiety.

My OCD consisted of thoughts of accidentally being responsible for someones death. For example if I dropped or even saw a fruit peel or a branch on the streets and did not pick it up, it would play on my

I would think what if someone steps on the peel? slips and falls in front of a moving vehicle and dies. I would then be responsible for this persons
death because I saw the peel and did not bother to pick it up.

I would have to return to where I had seen the peel and retrieve it, otherwise I would not have slept a wink that night and it would play on my mind all day. This was really as you can imagine making me unable to live a peaceful existence. I could not think of anything else other than whatever my lastest OCD fed me.

I finally did find my cure from anxiety and ocd you can to. I am happy to say that In my life at the moment on the very few occasions that I do experience "Anxiety Fear" is in stressful situations.

I might get a flash of anxiety fear fleetingly through my mind for a few seconds, really not worth a mention. I put this down to memory and perhaps a way of alerting me to stress in general.

Thoughts play an important part in keeping anxiety going do not forget that it is only "Anxiety Fear" not that you are going mad or about to collapse.

I sincerely hope that my own experience of anxiety will help you on your road to recovery.
